Who we are

This site is run by Go Red Robot Design, the design arm of the Go Red Robot group, which has been building and hosting websites since 2009. We serve small businesses in the United Kingdom and South Africa.

For anything about your data, contact us at [email protected] or on WhatsApp. Go Red Robot Design is run as a sole trader, so the person responsible for your data (the "data controller") is the owner of Go Red Robot Design, reachable at [email protected].

What we collect

• What you tell us. When you fill in our get-started form we collect your name, business name, email address, and (if you give it) your WhatsApp number — plus the details about your business and the site you want: what you do, your goals, style preferences, package and Care choice, domain, and any notes you add. If you email or message us, we keep that correspondence.
• Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe processes the payment securely. We keep a record of your plan, subscription, and whether payments succeeded.
• Usage data (only if you accept cookies). With your consent, Google Analytics tells us things like which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and what device/browser they use — so we can improve the site. This is off until you accept.

Cookies & local storage

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We also use your browser's "local storage" for a few conveniences. Here's everything:

• Necessary (always on, stored only in your browser): your currency preference (£/R), your progress in the get-started form so you don't lose it, and your cookie choice itself. These aren't shared with anyone.
• Analytics (only after you accept): Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure how the site is used. We use Google Consent Mode, so these are blocked until you choose "Accept". You can change your mind any time via "Cookie choices" in the footer.

How we use your information

• To design, build, host, and manage your website and email.
• To take your payment and manage your subscription and Care plan.
• To contact you about your project and provide support.
• To improve this website (analytics, with your consent).

In UK/EU data-protection terms, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (to provide the service), your consent (for analytics), and our legitimate interests in running and improving the business. We don't use your details for advertising.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run things:

• Stripe — to process payments and subscriptions.
• Google Analytics — to measure site usage (only with your consent).
• The Go Red Robot group's own servers — to host your site and handle email.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or South Africa; where they do, they're required to protect it under appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your customer records for as long as you're with us, and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet tax and legal obligations. Get-started submissions from people who don't go ahead are kept only as long as useful and then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — and you can withdraw your cookie consent at any time. Just email [email protected] and we'll sort it.

In the UK, if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. In South Africa, your rights are protected under POPIA (the Protection of Personal Information Act), and our Information Officer is the owner of Go Red Robot Design, reachable at [email protected].

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, payments run through Stripe's secure systems, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with care.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll do our best to let you know.
